Enjoy the night sky! - July 25, 2014
This weekend is going to be one of the best times to view the Northern Delta Aquariids Meteor Shower.
This amazing show will be seen across the world but here in the northwest we have a prime location for viewing. The meteor shower actually goes from about mid July until the middle of August each year.
When looking up at the night sky, look for “The Great Square of Pegasus and look down to find Delta Aquarii. This weekend is particularly good because of the new moon that is happening tomorrow July 26th. The new moon allows for an evening without moon light and you can expect to see 15 to 20 meteors per hour.
For many hot tub owners, this is one of their favorite times of year to enjoy a long or late evening/ early morning soak in their hot tub and enjoy the night sky. If you want to experience this in your backyard and want to experience these moments for years to come, please visit our Residential Hot Tubs page.
Keep hydrated in summer heat! - July 23, 2014
This summer has really kicked off with some hot temperatures the past few weeks and it look as if the next ten days are so are going to be the same. The forecast is predicting temperatures between mid 70’s to high 90’s. Six of the ten days are expected to be above 90 degrees and with warmer weather like this it is crucial to stay hydrated!
Here are a few helpful tips for staying hydrated while enjoying the summer heat!!
Kick your morning off right! Start each day with a glass of water (no ice) before enjoying your coffee, tea or juice. This glass of water will help replenish the fluids your body lost overnight and will give you a boost to your day. Don’t forget to fill a water bottle to take with you on the day’s adventure and refill as you need.
Munch down on two or three servings of fruits and vegetables at every meal! Fruits and vegetables are enhanced with water and minerals that you body needs. Any processed foods (including sugars, flours, salty snacks and processed meats) consumed will reduce your body’s water table. Eating a lot of meat adds pressure to your kidneys and will increase your body’s need for more water.
Everyone needs a few moments to themselves! Take a break and enjoy a glass of water! Drinking an extra glass of water will help if you worked out or didn’t squeeze enough fruits or vegetables into your day.
Wanting something with flavor and bubbles? Try substituting your soda and fruit juice with sparkling water and low-sodium vegetable juice! Enjoying these flavorful drinks can help reduce sugar spikes and unwanted reactions within your body to processed drinks.
Be environmentally friendly! Install water filtration at your kitchen sink or use a filtration pitcher! Bottled water is great for when you are on the run but using a filtration system can help cut the expensive cost of bottled water and the waste.
Love cooking with salt? Try using high-quality sea salt. A high quality, unrefined sea salt is rich with minerals, which are an important key to being healthy and hydrated! Sea salt also helps reduce sodium.

Caring People for Animals has a couple unique qualities for being an animal shelter. Every adoption is by donation, they only request that you give what you can and every animal adopted has a one-month trial period.
