Warm Weather - January 15, 2014
The last few weeks our January weather has resembled normal weather for March. Even the normal precipitation is down across the board for rain and snow! Weather like this can cause some pool owners to worry if their is enough chlorine in their pool. Here are a few tips to help ease your mind and how to check your pool.
  • If the pool is frozen like an ice cube, you have nothing to worry about. Remember to check on it periodically as the weather starts to get warmer.
  • If pool has thawed but is still cold, scoop up a cup or two of water below the surface of the water. Take your handy dandy water chemistry test strips and test to see if there is a residual of cholorine present in the water.
  • If the test strip shows any sign of chlorine, you are find to wait a few more weeks and test again.
  • If the test strip doesn't show any chlorine, then go to your closest Pool World location and pick up liquid chlorine. A employee should be able to assist you with getting the proper amount for application for your specific swimming pool.

Team & Club Rewards to The Pink Shamrock Foundation - January 14, 2014

Pool World wants to give a big thanks to Tim M. for selecting The Pink Shamrock Foundation as the organization to receive a $100 Donation!! Thank you Tim!!

The Pink Shamrock Foundation is local organization that was started right here in Spokane, WA with the mission to ensure that all women – especially those with limited funds and resources – have access to the care and support they need to fight breast cancer and win.

The Pink Shamrock Foundation is a tribute to Denny Anne Murphy, who struggled for years before being overcome by breast cancer. She was blessed with family and friends that were able to be there for her every step of the way. After she passed away, her family and friends began to wonder how people face similar battles without any support and this is how her friends and family decided to create The Pink Shamrock Foundation.

Tim was able to make this donation possible through their purchase of a Hot Spring Hot Spot Tx hot tub. This hot tub is perfect for two adults who want to enjoy a moment of relaxation. A few upgrades were also added to this little tub for two including a SilentFlo 5000 circulation pump to ensure clean clear sparkling water, Ozone and Water care package.

We want to give a HUGE THANKS to our customer Mark H. for donating his Team & Club Rewards to the Spokane Humane Society! Thank you for supporting such a great local organization!!

The Spokane Humane Society is a local non-profit public charity dedicated to the welfare of companion animals. Since 1897, we have acted as a refuge for animals in peril by providing care, shelter, and placement for tens of thousands of lost, neglected, and unwanted animals in the greater Spokane area. The number of animals we serve has varied over the years based upon our mission and role as animal control or in our current role as a companion animal adoption shelter.
