National Fallen Firefighter Memorial Weekend - October 02, 2015
This weekend is the 34th Annual National Fallen Firefighters Memorial.
Every October, the foundation sponsors the official national tribute to all firefighters who died in the line of duty during the previous year.
This weekend is filled with special programs for survivors and co-workers, along with public ceremonies. Every featured program throughout the weekend is meant to honor the service and sacrifice of our local fire fighters.
Celebrating and participating in the celebration of the fallen fire fighters allow survivors the opportunity to meet other fire service survivors from around the area and across the country. Through private donations, the Foundation provides lodging and meals for immediate next-of-kin of firefighters being honored and assists with travel expenses. This allows family members to participate in the public tributes, and in Family Day sessions conducted by trained grief counselors.
Take a moment this weekend to remember and honor the service of our local and national fire fighter crews who gave their heart and soul to protect their community.
